Watch Yourself Blink

Doing what seems impossible!

arsty fartsy: rhythm

September6

This is why I love tap dancing, the sound!

Mart: toenails!

I love nail polish!! I stay pretty conservative with my fingernails, but I love to play with colors on my toes.

Lately I have been on a blue-green kick. This green is a rich emerald by itself, but when layered with the slightly translucent gunmetal shade I got this…

It’s kind of funny how excited I get about pretty toes!   :: giggy giggle ::

Artsy Fartsy: Rart on a cake

August22

This year the youth (teenagers) in our church went on a “Pioneer Trek”, recreating some of the adventures of the Mormon Pioneers.

R was on one of the leadership committees which prepared and promoted this event, and at the final celebratory fireside, some of her art was recreated on a cake!

Kart: a poem

August15

K wrote this May 20, 2010 for a school assignment. I think she was supposed to use a lot of similes and metaphors.

“Drawing”

Drawing is a freeze frame

of my imagination,

Drawing sings a soothing song

to calm my stresses,

Drawing is a preview

of a new movie,

drawing is like ice cream

on a scorching

summer day,

Drawing lets my characters

dance on the paper,

Drawing lets loose

evil and good characters

from my head,

on paper and lets them

battle,

until ones falls,

Drawing is the lullaby

to myself,

Drawing allows video game heroes

jump from their world

and land on my paper,

Drawing freezes my outside world,

and opens the door of my imagination,

Drawing lets old worlds,

new worlds join together,

and lets the folks shake hands

and communicate with one another,

Drawing has no laws,

no limits,

but one rule:

Imagination belongs on white blank paper.

Artsy Fartsy: perfect greens

December6

This lovely young lady does my hair; I made this necklace for her birthday. I enjoy making one of a kind pieces with a specific person in mind.

Artsy fartsy, shopping edition

November29

I love making jewelry!

As usual, the site gives me ideas more often than I actually purchase anything.

Their idea section is phenomenal, and you can search by color, or material, or theme.

When I am making a piece for someone, I often direct them here to show them the possibilities.

Enjoy!

Artsy Fartsy: Kart emotions

August9

More characters – showing basic emotional states. Drawing is such a wonderful mental exercise!

Artsy Fartsy: Mart!

August2

Mom-art, that’s me! One of my favorite mediums is beaded jewelry. I started to make things that actually fit my wrists, and despite losing a lot of fine motor I still prefer to make my own. It just takes me weeks instead of hours. :)

My latest piece…

artsy fartsy: symbolic Rart

July26

R did these as an art project for school: The first one represents her brother D, the other her sister K. There is a lot of meaning here….

artsy fartsy: gift

July19

Being autistic, K doesn’t always know how to express herself. Sometimes she uses art. She has drawn pictures to show her worries, as birthday gifts, or apologies. This picture was drawn for her big sister R “because she was having a bad day.” K drew some of R’s favorite things. :)
